The D/M/V rapper releases the lead single to his upcoming album.
After having been relatively quiet, musically, for the past couple of months, Wale returns from his short hiatus to release a new single off of his upcoming album.
Washington, D.C.-rapper Olubowale “Wale” Akintimehin dropped the first single off of his fifth studio album SHINE, which stands for “Still here ignoring negative energy,” earlier today. The song “My P.Y.T.,” that features Sam Sneak, takes from the 1983 Michael Jackson hit “P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing).”
The lyrics for the song were posted on the lyric-annotation Genius before it was officially released today. The song stays true to the classic album-Wale feel as he focuses more on his flow and pairing it to the beat with his mix of poetic lyrics to bring it all together.
