No I.D. Teases New Common Song on Soulection Radio

The popular Soulection Radio brought in No I.D., who shared a verse from a new Common song that is believed to be a part of the artists’ 11th studio album.

The Los Angeles-based Soulection places their  “value on community, discovery, transparency, DIY growth and the artistry of music,” according to their site. Soulection strives on their radio show for Beats 1 Radio that mixes original music, interviews, classic music and more. Billboard wrote that Soulection is “a one-stop shop that provides consumers with a complete music experience, including not just streaming, but also radio and tools for bringing fans and artists closer together.”

With Soulection Radio Show #264, Joe Kay–Soulection co-founder–brings in Ernest Dion Wilson, better known as No I.D., into the studio. A lot of the tracks selected on Soulection seem based on vibes with the often mention of beats per minute (BPM) during the broadcast. It looks as though Kay finds it crucial to keep a cohesive BPM throughout the podcast in order to ensure a thorough, whole listen.

Kay talks with No I.D. about the inspiration he’s given to fans of his production, Grammy nominations, studio pet peeves and his own record label ARTium, among other topics. During the podcast, No I.D. premiered a verse from an upcoming Common song, “Home.” The song could potentially appear on the next album Common is working on. You can find the song at about the 2:00:30 mark.

Currently, No I.D. serves as the executive vice president and head of creative at Def Jam Recordings along with his own label.
