Canadian indie-pop duo Tegan and Sara announced an international tour, while also releasing a video for a new single ahead of their upcoming album.
The tour and video continues the pop duo’s recent marketing campaign as they prepare to release their first LP in three years. Early in March, Tegan and Sara announced a new album and dropped a pair of singles, “Boyfriend” and “U-Turn,” to go with the announcement. The duo’s North American tour kicks off September 9 in Saskatoon, Canada and ends November 16 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Tickets went on sale April 29 on the band’s website. The duo will donate $1 from each ticket sold for their North American tour dates to various nonprofits via the charity organization Plus One.
The video to “Boyfriend” features the duo–composed of twin sisters Tegan Rain Quin and Sara Keirstein Quin–singing amidst constantly changing backgrounds in a video within a video. The video features fashion designer Rachel Antonoff, actresses Sarah Ramos and Mae Whitman and was directed by Clea DuVall.
Catch Tegan and Sara locally when the duo plays the House of Blues in Boston on October 31. Full tour dates here, along with links to purchase tickets.
