HAPPY ONE YEAR TO LOCAL CRAFTS. This is the most consistent thing that has come out of 45s and 40s and I’m working on making it better than before. I started this as something that I wanted to use to support those in the area that don’t necessarily get the looks they should. It’s been a tough ride, but we’re going to keep going because there’s no backing down. We’ll support you for as long as you support us. Honestly, even if you don’t support us, it doesn’t cost us anything to show love.
We’re back with another Local Crafts. Better late than never once again? Let’s get to the music.
Per usual, we’re sorry if we missed you, but help us find you! Remember that if you have any new content for May to submit shoot a message to our contact page or send an email to us. Not much time left, we’re almost halfway into the month.
If you want to write, let us know!

Wattz — “I Want You Around (Wattz Remix)” 🎵 | (Providence)
We would think щ∆╫≥ is tired of giving us so much new content, but he isn’t. April gives us a remix of Snoh Aalegra’s “I Want You Around.” Wattz takes the slower Snoh track and brings it a bit more upbeat. To be honest, when Wattz drops a remix, it’s almost always an artist we haven’t heard of. Each mix exposes us to new artists to listen to and it’s dope.
Hip-hop
ALMTY YAMI — “BratzDoll” 🎥 | (Providence)
ALMTY YAMI comes through with another one. Here we have the video for his track “BratzDoll.” Yami’s style can’t truly be categorized as he can jump from hip-hop to R&B and blend any variation of those genres and more. Check out the Ceaser LaTorre-directed visuals.
Avenue — “Targets” (prod. Nino) 🎵 | (Roxbury, Massachusetts / Providence)
Avenue, still riding the wave of his December release Nightfall, taps Providence’s Nino for the production on his newest track “Targets.”
Big Frank “You a Bitch” (feat. Social Norm, prod. Atto Pilot) 🎵 | (Providence)
Big Frank, who has been relatively quiet lately, drops a new Atto Pilot-produced track featuring Social Norm over a flipped version of Missy Elliott’s “Get Ur Freak On.”
Cam Bells — “Other Side” (feat. Avenue) 🎥 | (Providence/Roxbury)
This has to be one of my favorite tracks on Cam Bells‘ 2017 classic Young King, Old Soul – an album that still gets steady rotation for me. Directed by Red Eye Movies, the video for “Other Side” takes you from Bells’ South Side of Providence to Avenue‘s South End of Roxbury in Boston. Check out the video and Avenue’s other single above.
Cam Brov — Swamp God 💿
April brings us a new project, Swamp God, from Cam Brov. His style is different than the traditional hip-hop we’ve posted here in the past, but we’re all about inclusion. Check it out below and also the rest of The Hate Street Dialogue and the group’s latest, The Hate Tape. The project includes production from Tayte the Technician and Rizz Beats while mixing and mastering come by way of Larry Ohh, who is featured a little lower in Lunchbagg’s newest track.
Khary — “Fuck Simon” 🎥 | (Providence)
Khary gives us a much-needed dose of new music, even though he gave us plenty in 2018. It’s a new age and people go through music pretty quickly. Khary dropped “Fuck Simon,” can you figure out the meaning behind it? We know…kind of.
By the way, Khary cut his hair and announced his next album will be called THIS. His last release was UHHH and we theorized that he’ll drop a set of projects; UHHH, THIS, IS and WEIRD. Let’s see if it actually happens that way.
Latrell James — “Tracphone” 🎥 | (Boston)
Dorchester native Latrell James dropped a new video for his song “Tracphone.” Go ahead and comb through it and try to find some underlying meanings.
Lunchbagg — “Muse” (feat. Larry Ohh) 🎥 | (Providence)
Coming off of a couple of performances while out in Costa Rica, Lunchbagg is back and ready to continue releasing music. Lunchbagg links with Larry Ohh for their newest track “Muse,” which is coupled with a lyric video.
MEECH — ‘NineFour 💿 | (Brockton, Massachusetts)
We just found out about MEECH this month. He comes through and drops ‘NineFour which features Jiles, Luke Bar$ and Lord Felix, all from Brockton and previously featured on Local Crafts. The album also sports production from the likes of B. Stanley, Godzart, AeBeats and more. Six tracks in length, listen to it in full. Standout tracks for me are “R&B” and “No House Parties (Stay Inside).”
Peep the visuals for “Lemon Water.”
For the record, that front/back artwork hard.
mesori grey “Blue Lines” (feat. Z100Wave) / “Twisted Feel” 🎵 | (Providence)
We featured mesori grey a couple of months ago and he’s back with some new music featuring Z100Wave whom you’ll see a couple of times this month. Second up for grey this month is “Twisted Feel.” On this track he enlists YZ to help with the co-production.
Pharaoh Jaxson — “RHIDE” (feat. NICE) 🎥 | (Providence)
We have some new visuals from Pharaoh Jaxson featuring NICE.
TheRealRed_GF — “J I M M Y C O N W A Y” 🎵 | (Los Angeles)
Red has been working. The LA transplant, by way of Rhode Island (not the first in this month’s roundup), has had music has come naturally to him and he’s only started posting recently. April brings us “J I M M Y C O N W A Y” produced by WhitxRosx_.
Sooper Vega — “Skin” 🎥 | (Providence)
Produced by Tower Beatz, Vega drops his latest single “Skin.” The Providence artist brings his introspective, atmosphere-driven and emotional sound to the track.
Z100Wave — “Flex” 🎵 | (Providence)
April brings you a trifecta of Z100Wave. First you have his feature on mesori grey’s track just above and if you scroll down, you can catch his cameo in Jean Lou’s newest video. If he looks familiar, you might know him from some other work he’s done or the “Boulevard”
Indie/Alternative/Rock/Pop
empty hour — “Duck Duck Goose” 🎥 | (Providence/Los Angeles)
LA transplants by way of Providence, empty hour follows up their fantastic 2018 release Shades with a new track “Duck Duck Goose.” If y’all know me, you know I love empty hour’s music and their style. I was hoping they wouldn’t lose their touch once KREW$ and Tyler set their sights on the West Coast and I was right.
Latin
Kewin Cosmos — “Elige” (feat. Jay Ramirez) 🎥
Kewin Cosmos elige a Jay Ramirez para su cancion nueva con el mismo nombre…. “Elige.”
R&B/Alternative R&B
SHY — Losing Track / “Orlando Bloom” 🎵 | (Los Angeles/Providence)
Shyfi just dropped a new EP called Losing Track. Born in Providence, SHY recorded the EP where she currently resides in Los Angeles and pours emotion into every second. The EP is a mixture of love, pain, light themes and dark. She writes that the EP is “both bare-bones and mysterious, but not at all that black and white. It gets better as it goes on, and it leaves you wanting more.”
She also coupled the release of her EP with the video to her song “Orlando Bloom.” Check them out below.
Jean Lou — “Starship Troopers” (feat. Yoshe Mars)
Watch Jean Lou and friends travel to Planet Nebula in this fun video for “Starship Troopers.”
Real Rome — ETERNAL 💿 | (Rhode Island)
Real Rome drops his debut ETERNAL. The four-track release was produced exclusively by Rome, giving him complete control over the sound of the project.
That’s all we got for April 2019.
We’re looking for writers, just shoot an email to us. Any genre let’s do it.
It’s still Rest in Peace Nipsey Hussle. The Marathon Continues.
