The stage sat empty following the performance of LastChildMusik, who put his beats on display, drawing the crowd with his sounds. Only one act was left — Spocka Summa, the headliner.
Careful and patient planning led to the Providence artist setting the stage for the release of his upcoming project The Greeen. The title means so much more to Summa than simply the title of his EP. This night, however, green is the color of his stage lights, the color of his hat , the color of his merch, the color of the glowsticks in the crowd — it was everywhere.
Filing in and making their way around the venue space were friends, family and fans of Summa. The crowd was so large at Fete Music Hall‘s Lounge that at one point entry was temporarily denied due to capacity. Performances by Big Frank, UNTLD, Jesse the Tree and more led to the culmination of the night.
Summa began his performance, fittingly, with one of his most popular songs from his previous release — “The. Progression.” He performed more cuts from The Progression 001 while also mixing in songs from his upcoming EP. The theme behind The Progression 001 was centered around the idea that humans have become more robotlike with the addition of so much technology that they, at times, become reliant on it.
The night shows Spocka Summa acts not only as a great performer, but also a planner. Summer 88, his company that provides opportunities for upcoming artists by way of festivals, showcases, pop-up shops and more.
