With the saturation of trap music and beats in hip-hop, Good Money 2 brings a refreshing sound to the table with the omission of those kinds of beats.
CashNashville-based artist Dee Goodz has always been on a consistent grind to create and release new, quality music. His beat selection is one of the things that separates him from other artists in his lane. These selections are due, in part, by way of New Orleans’ Chase N. Cashe, an artist whom Goodz has worked with on numerous occasions.
In 2015, the two released Good Money – a title that can be interpreted as a play on their names or simply because they’re both good. Just like Good Money 2, the first entry was exclusively produced by Chase N. Cashe and featured the producer and Bankskee.
“Good Money is a product of two southern survivalist linking up. I always been a fan of Chases beats for the fact that he is always gonna come with that solid player sound and bounce and that’s the feels to where I am in music at the moment. He’s a cool dude, the music was organic and everything from that was allgoodz.” – HotNewHipHop wrote Dee Goodz said about the project.
The 12-track project serves as Goodz’ first foray into 2018 and features Chase N. Cashe, Gee Slab, Curtis Fields, Petty, New Orleans’ Bruce Dillon and BankSkee. In September, Goodz began promotion for the project, which started with the release of the lead single “Down South Hustler,” featuring Curtis Fields – one half of the Atlanta duo The Pheels. He later dropped the official video alongside the release of Good Money 2.
