With crossover collabs between Latin and American artists on the rise, Dillon Francis adds his spin with “VEN,” featuring Arcangel and Quimico Ultra Mega.
The year 2018 has already surprised us with many different collaborations and new music. Though, I don’t think we’re really ready for Dillon Francis 2.0 in his plan to make Moombahton — a combination of dance and reggaetón that Francis has been a supporter of — more prominent. His latest release is the first single of his long-anticipated, adrenalin-pumping Spanish-American album. “VEN” brings together legendary urban latino artist Arcangel and Químico Ultra Mega.

Químico Ultra Mega has already given us a little taste of what’s to come on his Instagram profile with behind-the-scenes looks for the filming of the video for “VEN.” Set in New York City with off-white and all-black vibes, we can already tell that this single will be a hit. Mero — one half of the comedic duo Desus and Mero — was also one of the familiar faces on the set of the new single’s video, and gave us the inside scoop of the video as well. Scenes in the video take place in Washington Heights, adding an additional bit of culture to this song.
This isn’t, however, Francis’ first rodeo. In announcing the new single, Francis wrote he went to “NY, Miami, Dominican Republic and Mexico City to work and it was some of the most incredible experiences ever.”
We all know that when you have Toy Selectah helping him, Francis working with De La Ghetto and Residente of Calle 13, this album is going to be filled with rhythmic beats just in time for festival season.
