Bruno Mars, Cardi B Drop ’90s Inspired Video for ‘Finesse’ Remix
Bruno Mars brings back "In Living Color" with his newest video
Update: The Wayans family loves it
Already amassing more than 3 million views on YouTube, Bruno Mars and Cardi B connect for an “In Living Color”-inspired music video for the remix to Mars’ song “Finesse.”
It’s always special when two big-name artists connect on a track, but when it’s Mars who is involved, it feels big time. A 90s-inspired video isn’t new, as Big Sean released the “Martin“-inspired “Play No Games” a couple of years ago. Compared to the tempo of the Big Sean, Mars and Cardi B bring an increased energy to the video to match the song.
“Finesse” was originally released in late 2016 on Mars’ album 24K Magic.
Directed by Mars, and co-directed by Florent Dechard, the song and video both feature sounds and visuals used in the 1990s and in the show “In Living Color,” which is where most of the inspiration is drawn.
“In Living Color” was a sketch comedy show that began in 1990 and ran through 1994. It featured . The video is a Mars’ own version of the main theme video from the show’s first season. Mars dances throughout the video like a Fly Girl and Cardi B flings paint like a Wayan brother.
Here are some thoughts by the stars of the video:
This video is dedicated to one my favorite T.V shows of all time
