TDE Releases Newest SZA Single, ‘twoAM’

SZA puts her own spin on PARTYNEXTDOOR’s “Come and See Me.”

The ball is now rolling in the Top Dawg Entertainment camp as SZA becomes the newest member of the label to release a song.

While the song samples parts of PARTYNEXTDOOR’s (PND) song “Come and See Me,” it serves as more of an original release by the TDE signee. Solána “SZA” Rowe–pronounced Sih-Zah–hasn’t released a project since Z in 2014. If her trend in releases2013’s S and 2014’s Z–are a foreshadowing of the titles of her releases, the next project she puts out should finish the name trilogy with A.

“twoAM” embraces the sound of the PND track, but allows SZA to add her own spin to it. The tail end of the track adds in what seems to be a snippet of another song SZA is working on. This isn’t the only female version of the PND song as Erykah Badu recently released her own iteration of the track.

According to the now-infamous TDE-release-date board posted by TDE Founder/CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, SZA was in the “4th stage creative,” which could be that she isn’t quite ready yet to release an album, but more than likely is close to getting there. Though being in the “4th stage creative” portion of her progress, SZA was still placed in the 2016 TDE release category on his board.
