Drake and 40 talk rap influences, classic records, strip clubs and famous relatives–among other topics–in newest Nardwuar interview.
Five years after his last interview with the Toronto-based artist, Nardwuar brings Drake and 40 together for his newest interview.
John Ruskin, better known as Nardwuar the Human Serviette, is a Canadian disc jockey and musician who has gained a following because of his in-depth video interviews. His interviews are known for including information about the artists or related to the artists that generally isn’t public knowledge. The length of the interview is a hat tip to the respect that Nardwuar has earned throughout the years of interviewing. Generally his interviews are about a half-hour long, but he once had an interview with Kid CuDi that didn’t even make it to the 10-minute mark.
In this interview, Nardwuar finds Noah “40” Shebib and Aubrey “Drake” Graham in 40’s Toronto studio for an hour-long interview. Nardwuar does what he does best and hits 40 and Drake with information even they were surprised he knew. From his first “muse,” to showing pictures of Drake and 40 back before jeans were fitted. Though Drake gets most of interview questions, 40 gets his part with classic record finds–even his first production and writing credit. If you have the time, watch the video above.
