After having some of his songs leak a few days ago, Drake took to Twitter to release two new tracks potentially off of his upcoming album Views From the 6.
The two songs differ from each other as the first song released, “One Dance,” featuring WizKid and Kyla, is an up-tempo track with a dancehall feel to it, whereas “Pop Style,” featuring Kanye West and Jay Z, is slower. Both songs were posted by Drake, but then removed and added once more with the hashtag “#VIEWS.” “One Dance,” produced by Nineteen85 and Noah “40” Shebib, takes after some elements found in music from the Caribbean. The second song, “Pop Style,” lists Kanye West and Jay Z as “The Throne,” based on their 2011 collaborative album Watch the Throne. Jay Z gets feature credit, though his verse–if you will–is only two lines. The song, produced by SEVN Thomas and Frank Dukes, has more of a mellower, almost video game-like feel. At the end of Kanye West’s verse, if you listen close, you can hear the “Perfect!” sound bite from “Street Fighter 2.” Check it out below:
