“Starboy” gets the visual treatment.

After releasing the lead single to his upcoming album by the same name, The Weeknd today let loose the visuals for his song “Starboy.”

The Daft Punk-featured track’s visuals features The Weeknd in a sort of cryptic crime scene where someone appears to be kidnapped and he goes around causing damage to everything in sight. Reminiscent of Ice Cube’s tirade and destruction of a Priority Records office in the 1990s–as visually depicted by his son in the N.W.A biopic.

Daft Punk’s appearance in the video is depicted on artwork hanging on a wall. Their appearance in the song seems just as absent as the only vocals by the French electronic music duo were only as ad-libs during the song’s chorus. Along with providing some vocals, the duo helped produce the track along with Cirkut and Don McKinney.

The Canadian-born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, best know by his stage name The Weeknd, is currently working on his third studio album–scheduled to be released Nov. 25, 2016. The album will be released on XO and Republic Records.
