Spotify and Hulu packaged in one
Spotify and Hulu have partnered together to create a one-of-its-kind bundle that allows undergrad college students to use both services for $4.99 a month.
The deal pairs Spotify Premium and Hulu’s limited-ad-enabled version of its video streaming service together for one price. Regularly, the price for Spotify Premium on its own for students is $4.99, basically making Hulu free for any student who already has Spotify and wants to add Hulu in. The service is also available for new members who have a Spotify student account.
Currently, the promotion is only available to college students based in the United States, but the official press release states they will have “bundled offerings targeted at broader market[s]” at a later date.
“In bringing Spotify and Hulu together, we’re now able to offer students – both the millions already on Spotify Premium, and those who are new to Spotify – access to the world’s best music, TV and movie content in the simplest possible way,” Chief Premium Business Officer at Spotify Alex Norstrom said. “We’re very excited to be partnering with Hulu – a like-minded company which is as focused as we are on delivering the very best in high quality streaming content.”
“We are proud to announce Spotify as our newest strategic partner – they’re an iconic brand in music streaming and a proven leader in reaching and engaging young consumers,” SVP, Head of Distribution and Partnerships at Hulu Tim Connolly said. “By bundling our enormous catalogues of content together in a single, highly compelling offer, we’re making it easier for people to enjoy all of the TV and music they love, whenever and wherever they want.”
To subscribe to the service, undergraduate students who attend school at a United States Title IV accredited college or university, who are already a Spotify Premium for Student subscribe can access their acocunts and change their plan to the one including Hulu. New subscribers, however, should use the Spotify for Student sign-up page.[H/T The Verge]
