After going through ups and downs to begin his career, Christian Berishaj, better known as JMSN–pronounced jameson–has found a comfortable groove and following since the release of his last couple of projects.
The young JMSN has excelled in the ability to vary his musical style and do it well. After the closing down of Universal
Motown Records–the label he was previously signed to– and the changing of his name from Christian TV to JMSN, his 2012 release Priscilla found acclaim, which helped shoot the artist into the spotlight.
From the R&B sound of “Addicted” to the blues sound of “Cruel Intentions” and “Good Ol’ Case of the Blues,” JMSN has found successes in any genre he records. With “Hypnotized,” JMSN adds another style to his repertoire with a more reggae-sounding track. His versatility is clearcut as he is the producer, writer and mixer of the song. Arima Ederra, who provides additional vocals in the track, joins JMSN and others in the James Knott-directed video.
The video’s cool tone goes well with the scenery, as there isn’t much more to it than a backyard barbecue. The video uses a one-shot approach, which is when the entire video is filmed in one take. With every camera turn, JMSN is in a different spot, but the fluidity remains as there are no cuts to separate scenes. Catch JMSN having fun and dancing kind of awkwardly in the video above.
Coming off of his last self-titled release, JMSN (Blue Album), JMSN is prepping for the release of his newest album on May 1, called It Is. The album is available for preorder in multiple formats on his website and, with a preorder, you get a
download for the song “Cruel Intentions” instantly.
