Fredo Santana has died at 27

Fredo Santana, the cousin of fellow Chicago rapper Chief Keef, died last night. He was 27.

Derrick Coleman, known by his rap name Fredo Santana, passed away last night in his Los Angeles home. According to TMZ, Santana’s family told them the cause of death was a seizure. The family said the rapper’s girlfriend found him after going to his house at approximately 11:30 p.m.

A couple of months ago, the Santana was admitted to the hospital after a seizure and suffering from what he said was kidney failure.

“Been in here since Friday doctor say a n—— had kidney failure an (sic) liver failure,” he wrote on Instagram. “Thanks for everyone who prayed for a n—— I wouldn’t wish this on my worse enemy.”

He would go to Twitter to continue writing about his situation.

He mentioned potentially going to rehab, but it isn’t known at the time whether or not he did.

Santana also leaves behind his 8-month-old son Legend.

The music community has felt the loss of the artist and many have gone to social media to touch on it:
