Indie-pop band Fitz and the Tantrums released a video for their catchy new single “Handclap,” off of their newest, self-titled album.
The video was directed by Marc Klasfeld, who has directed more than 200 videos for established artists such as Katy Perry, Rakim, Juvenile, Justin Timberlake, Jay Z, Shakira and Britney Spears, among others. The video has the look and feel of one of the aforementioned artists with plenty of choreographed dancing, vibrant outfits and flashy sets.
The song has proven to be a hit for Fitz and the Tantrums. It’s a modern dance hit and is addictive. It’s garnered more than 7 million Spotify streams and peaked at number 6 on Billboard’s chart for top alternative songs.
The video is part of the marketing campaign for the band’s album, which was released on June 10. The band also just kicked off a summer tour.
