BJ The Chicago Kid Delivers Emotional Performance in New Video

Coming off of the release of his new album, BJ The Chicago Kid released a new music video for “Woman’s World,” a cut off of In My Mind.

Bryan James Sledge, better known by his stage name, BJ The Chicago Kid, gained a large following of fans after having been featured on ScHoolboy Q‘s 2014 single “Studio,” off of his third album OxymoronBJ’s debut album, Pineapple Now-Laterscame while he was signed to M.A.F.E. Music LLC, but after its release he was quickly signed by Motown. BJ was also featured on Kanye West track “Impossible” with Keyshia Cole and Twista for the 2006 film Mission Impossible IIIthough the song wasn’t a part of the official soundtrack.

The video was officially released today after having it premiere on BET yesterday for 24 hours. The video features BJ performing the track to a sold-out crowd of two–his mother and a young girl. As is highlighted in the video, BJ’s mother was flown out to Los Angeles to visit the Motown records office her son is signed to. After looking at some of the photos of her son on the walls and getting her makeup done, she walks into a room where a chair is set up for her and BJ performs an intimate and emotional rendition of “Woman’s World.”
