Big Sean Releases New Album, ‘I Decided’

Big Sean releases I Decided

After making his round of promotional interviews for his album, including revealing he made a significant donation to the Flint, Mich. water crisis, Big Sean has finally released his newest project.

Though Big Sean has been consistently making music since he first signed to Kanye West‘s label GOOD Music back in 2007, the growth and quality of his sound has increased exponentially. Finally Famous and Hall of Fame were both introductions of sorts to the sound of studio Big Sean, but the release of Dark Sky Paradise seemed as though it was a turning point for the artist.

Its been two years since the release of his solo project Dark Sky Paradise, and almost a year since his collab album Twenty88 with Jhené Aiko–together as Twenty88.

Featuring the likes of Eminem, Aiko, The-Dream and Migos, among others, Big Sean delivers one of his most personal albums yet. Sean spoke to Zane Lowe about I Decided and how he came to getting its name. The album jumps back and forth in tempo and is a great listen front to back. Coming in just shy of an hour of total play time, the album puts into perspective the decisions Sean has faced throughout his career–with a lot of praise going to his family.

The lead single, “Bounce Back,” was released in October.

Though controversy surrounds a particular song in the album, it doesn’t take away from the overall feel of it. Listen to Big Sean’s I Decided on all major streaming platforms.
