Hensley graduated from the University of Rhode Island where he was the editor-in-chief of the school newspaper, the Good 5 Cent Cigar. He founded the site with hopes to add to the ever-growing digital music newsroom. Hensley generally writes about Hip-Hop, but other genres are not out of his writing spectrum. On the side, Hensley is a photographer and videographer, specializing in concert photography. He has seen his work be featured on websites such as 2DopeBoyz, OnSmash, HotNewHipHop and more.
Ryan Gibbs is a writer, music critic and journalist originally from Newport, Rhode Island. He is a graduate of the journalism program at the University of Rhode Island, where he was the entertainment editor for the Good 5 Cent Cigar newspaper. In addition to writing for 45s and 40s, he is also a staff writer and social media manager for the entertainment website The Young Folks and works as a freelance reporter in the southern Rhode Island area.
Juan is a Providence, R.I.-based writer who contributes to the modern rock section. Juan is an avid writer, reader and lover of simple things. Besides music, his interest lies in education. He writes grant proposals for a Boston education nonprofit and was a contributing writer at Noodle Education.
Cynthia is an incoming junior at the University of Rhode Island, and is a double major in English and Journalism. She currently is a contributing writer for the Entertainment section at URI's Good Five Cent Cigar. She has an eclectic music taste that stretches from hip-hop, R&B and soul/jazz to punk, alternative rock and even a little ambient, electronic music every now and then.
Apart from school, she sings on the side and contributes her vocals to the URI-based alt rock-R&B-fusion band, Nakamarra.
Annie is Rhode Island native with a taste for pop punk and alternative rock.
A graduate of Providence College, she’s an avid writer with a degree in English lit.
She makes a living working as a digital journalist for a local television station and prides herself on being social media savvy.
